Wednesday July 16, 2003, 9:56pm<br><br> <table cellpadding=2 width=600 border=0> <tr> Well... up late again with the yeast bread. I'm kind of annoyed at this 'cause it never seems to work. This is the second batch to go wrong. </p>Today's rest day went pretty well. The weather cleared up completely by mid afternoon and became a really nice day. Last night was a bit crazy with the wind. At 2:00am the wind picked up again, but this time from the northwest. I had to get up and tie my tent down and take the pole out of the kitchen tarp. Laura came out of her tent to help too. I was pretty concerned that we would get a storm today... and didn't want to have to deal with that. It was quite windy for the rest of the night, and morning. </p>By 10:00am I got out of the tent to find some of the campers awake. After a while I got a fire going and some of them stated pancakes. I went back to sleep until mine was ready. We made a couple batches then started sorting out the wannigans at around 2:30. Took everything out to dry the bags and wash the insides. Rose and Laura rearranged everything and the only thing that we're short on is granola and oats. Should be ok, but I think we ate too many in the first half. Got rid of the baby duffel and all the wannigans are fairly light. Shouldn't be too bad portaging. </p>Went swimming after I washed some of my clothes. THe water is amazingly clear. More so than a swimming pool. All the kids went in, and some had gunnel wars. I took some underwater photos... not sure how they'll all turn out. </p>Looked over the rest of the trip and everything looks ok. There'll be a couple days of hard portaging, but we should get back ok. </p>Had curry and rice for dinner tonight. Was really good and Laura worked hard on it. Most of the campers really liked it, but some didn't. Had pizza for dessert... that was really good too. Best I've ever had on trip. </p>Saw a floatplane come in this morning just before noon. 2 people and a green canoe. Plane came in dropped them off and was back in the air in about 5 min. Was pretty cool to see and quite loud. </p>Stars are out nicely tonight, and it's getting a bit cooler.
